Food & Film returns on June 26 with a special screening of Like Water for Chocolate. Director Alfonso Arau’s 1992 film remains one of cinema’s most unforgettable celebrations of food, desire, and emotion, following Tita as she pours love and heartbreak into her cooking with magical, intoxicating effects. For the evening, LULU will offer a seasonal prix fixe menu inspired by the film.
Menu preview coming soon. ✨
Food and Film is a quarterly series designed to delight the senses and inspire the mind. Co-presented with the UCLA Film & Television Archive and renowned chef, activist, and cinephile Alice Waters, the series explores the intersections of culinary and moving image arts and how food, like art, can help build more sustainable and thriving communities together.
Ticketing: Archive screenings at the Hammer Museum are free and seating is first come, first served. Tickets must be picked up at the box office, which opens one hour before the screening.
