Saturday, May 23 & Sunday, May 24 — In honor of Robin Greenfield’s visit, Chef-in-Residence Giles Clark has created two special menus for Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch.
We’re honored to welcome Robin to LULU on Sunday, May 24 at 3:30 p.m. for a conversation about his remarkable year of foraging, living from the land, and seeing the American food landscape differently. Join us for lunch anytime after 11:30 and stay for the talk at 3:30 p.m.
Foraging has long been part of the way we think about food at LULU, not simply as a culinary exercise, but as a way of paying attention to the landscape around us. Our friend and teacher, environmental activist Robin Greenfield, has taken that idea further than most of us could imagine.
For the past year, Robin has lived entirely on foods he has gathered, harvested, fished, or found himself. Rice from paddies in Wisconsin. Mulberries and burdock from Minneapolis parks. Wild herbs from suburban sidewalks. Fish from rivers and lakes. Even meat, procured in ways only Robin can properly explain.
Robin’s project is both practical and political: an attempt to remind us of the abundance that still exists around us, and to question the industrial food systems we have come to depend upon. His year of living from the land asks us to reconsider what it means to eat well, responsibly, and attentively.
Alongside the special prix fixe menus, our regular à la carte offerings will also be available throughout the weekend.
